PHP errors prevent connection

After activating the plugin and going to the setup page, the connect button does nothing and PHP errors are shown.

Following up to this. Sometimes refreshing the page gives me the additional error at the top but not always:

The version I'm using is 5.6 "Mailchimp for WooCommerce" by Mailchimp. No this isn't a dev site.
