Recreating an index after it disappeared

Hello!
After an unexpected power outage, the realtime index is gone.

When I access the index I get an error:

SQLSTATE[42000]: Syntax error or access violation: 1064 unknown local index(es) 'staff_rt' in search query
The SQL being executed was: SELECT `full`, `guid`, `f`, `i`, `o`, `dept`, `position` FROM `staff_rt` WHERE MATCH('*') 

When I try to re-create it, I get an error:

Exception: SQLSTATE[42000]: Syntax error or access violation: 1064 error adding index 'staff_rt': directory is not empty: /var/lib/manticore/staff_rt

Can I remove directory /var/lib/manticore/staff_rt and create the index again?
If not, how can I restore the index?
