Hello! I downloaded Blams EA Store Content but it doesn't seem to be playing well with Dream Launcher.

Most tutorials for the Store Content say to install them manually in the proper folders. But when I do that, Dream Launcher automatically deletes them on bootup, saying they have to be installed through the launcher.

But when I try to install them through the Dream Launcher, it says they conflict with each other for some reason.

As far as I can tell, no one else has this issue, since I can't find anyone mentioning it and it's not in any of the FAQs or instructions for Dream Launcher. :(

Hi! If you are referring to things like Worlds, then it is best to use the official Sims Launcher to install that content, and there should be no problems.

If the content you are trying to install is things like clothing and furniture, make sure that the content is being placed in the "Mods" folder. The Dream Launcher only deletes unrecognized mods inside the "Mods" folder, but does not delete anything outside of the "Mods" folder. It deletes unrecognized mods from the "Mods" folder to avoid problems, since it is best to install these mods through the Dream Launcher for better management and to avoid conflicts.

As for the conflict error, there is not much you can do. If the Launcher is accusing that your mod is conflicting with another one already installed, then it is best to edit the mod you are trying to install to remove the conflicting resource, or change the resource ID within the mod, which can be easily done with S3PE.

There's a chance this is a false conflict alert, since Dream Launcher is still new, and I'm tweaking things as more people report it to me.

So I can check this out further, could you post the mod you're trying to install, and a screenshot of the conflict warning window?

Hi Marco i also had a quick question i know that i should use the EA Launcher for downloads regarding the Sims Exchange website but everytime i try to install items it tells me that the sims launcher is already running. im not sure if thats because of Dream Launcher or if im doing something wrong but any help would be appriciated since i have a good amont of items that i have bought with simpoints but havent been able to figure out how to add them to my game since i installed dream launcher

This seems a bit strange... It shouldn't be happening.

Would it be possible for you to post screenshots or record a short demonstration video so I can try to identify what might be causing this?

Sure I'll try to record something here in a second but just in case I'm the one doing something wrong is there any steps I'm supposed to take to installing exchange items? Like do I start up dream launcher then open the sims 3 EA launche from the tools section? And if so do you know if it's only possible to download the exchange items through Microsoft edge or will it work through a chrome tab too

Unfortunately, I've never tried downloading items from the official Sims store through a web browser, so I can't say for sure... But I think the best alternative for official Sims store items is to use the official EA Launcher, at least for that purpose.

If the problem you mentioned is caused by the Dream Launcher, I'll do my best to fix it. :)

i cant seem to add video files for some reason but in short ill log into my exchange account on chrome and head to the download tab and click download on the items and when i click download dream launcher will start up but once its started up it doesnt do anything so when i click it again it will then say this

Hello! I would like to inform you that I identified the cause of the problem. :)

I never used the official EA store to download content for my game, I always preferred to download from other sites. Because of this, to be honest, I didn't know how the EA official store system worked.

It turns out that when you click on "Download" in the official store, it sends a request using the "sims3://" protocol so that your computer will open the official Launcher from The Sims 3 and then start downloading the requested content.

As Dream Launcher replaces the executable of the Official Launcher of The Sims 3, Dream Launcher was being opened when this request was sent through the official store website, but Dream Launcher did not know what to do with this request, and only ignores it, as if the user was opening it through Steam.

Knowing this, I will release soon, an update for Dream Launcher. In this update, Dream Launcher will continue to receive requests from the official store of The Sims 3, but now Dream Launcher will open the Official Launcher of The Sims 3 and re-pass this request for him to process it, as it was before. In the end, you should get a behavior very similar to what it was before installing Dream Launcher.

According to the tests I did, everything happened as planned, and the downloads of the contents worked well. Note that after finishing a download, you will need to close the official Launcher from The Sims (and keep Dream Launcher open) if you want to download another content from the site.

As the official store of The Sims 3 involves a whole layer of safety, tokens, server APIs, OAUTH and many other complex things, I prefer to leave this theme to EA's official Launcher, as I implement support for the official EA store inside Launcher could be very problematic.

However, if people find a good idea, I can implement a Webview inside Dream Launcher so that people can open the official EA The Sims Store inside Dream Launcher, without depending on external browsers, ie without leaving Dream Launcher. What would you think of this?

ALRIGHT MARCOS YOU ROCK I'm glad I was able to help out then if this wasn't something that anyone knew about. I did want to ask though when you said you didn't download anything from the official EA store does that mean you could get the same content from other sites??

No haha! I think I expressed myself wrong, sorry. When I said I prefer to download stuff outside of the EA store, I was referring to free content created by The Sims 3 community, which can be found on sites like Mod The Sims, Nexus, The Sims Resource, etc. The latter being my favorite when it comes to clothes, hairstyles, etc. :)

aaah okay gotcha gotcha hey also thanks for this great launcher you and anyone else involved it really does make alot of things a thousand times easier and the best part is that alot of the mods you recommended where exactly everything i had before so it was a perfect fit one last thing i wanted to ask about is that i get lots of notifications for sims around town now i had seen someone else mention this and was trying to figure out how to fix it on my own so i wasnt asking so many questions but cant seem to figure it out is there a way to tone those down?

I'm glad you liked the Launcher. I did my best to make life as easy as possible for those who use it! :)

As for the Sims notifications, I think you're probably referring to the NRaas Story Progression. If that's the case, know that by default, the Dream Launcher installs the NRaas Story Progression with notifications enabled only for Family, Friends and Enemies Sims, so you should only receive notifications from these types of Sims.

At the beginning of each world, the mod also sends several notifications about people getting jobs, discovering careers, etc. These notifications do not respect the filters I mentioned above, however, this behavior only happens while the mod is being loaded and settling in the world, which should last about 3 or 4 days of play, after which it should behave as I mentioned above.

If you still want to turn off or better tune the notifications, you will need to configure Story Progression in your Save Game. I believe the links below will be useful to help you with this...
