[Bug] Ctrl+, no longer opens settings and instead inserts a character in the canvas

Issue/Description:
Pressing Ctrl+, no longer triggers the settings panel. Instead, it inserts a character directly into the canvas, which interferes with the expected shortcut behavior.

Steps to Reproduce:

• Open Cedilla
• Focus on the canvas
• Press Ctrl+,

Expected Behavior:
Pressing Ctrl+, should open the settings panel, not insert any character into the canvas.

I’m not sure if this is intended behavior. When the search bar in COSMIC Files is focused, I’m seeing the same behavior.

The issue here is that once the canvas is selected, it cannot be deselected by clicking on the title bar. The only way I could do that was to use use search or select new folder option, effectively focusing another text field and then remove focus by canceling the operation.

Yeah, that's expected. I need the canvas to keep focus so that when you click on a header bar item (the one with the headings...), the cursor remains on the previous position and the selection stays the same so that it works correctly; that's why it keeps focus. I don't know how I'd be able to improve this, tbh. I'll have to think about it.
