RSS feed or API

So - robots.txt blocks everything except marginalia (yay <3 marginalia)

but on the topic of programmatically retrieving links submitted,

is there a plan for a /nice/ way to do this? (e.g., an RSS/atom feed, or an API)

or is the general idea to /not/ do that?

I'd like to have an RSS feed, but it's very low on the pile of priorities at the moment. I would accept a PR for it though if you're willing to give it a try.

And there is an API for brutalinks, it's the ActivityPub client to server functionality that itself is being built on top of.

Is it against the TOS to collect links from it though?

I'm not entirely sure I understand what you mean by this question but I'll try to answer to the extent that I do:

My perspective on internet content is that as long as it's available for access publicly, and as long as it's being done in a respectful and non-abusive manner, it's unreasonable to invent rules against consuming that content or be outraged when it happens.

That being said, the link between me as a maintainer of some software that is being run as a service by a third party, and that service's users, is not an entirely direct one, so I would not assume what a random instance of a piece of software I wrote would demand of their users to do.

From my point of view, building RSS from a publicly available ActivityPub inbox/outbox is a perfectly acceptable use.
