Data Cleanup - What to do about the strings within ( ) in source documents

Often the source document contains something like this:
AIDS SIDA (síndrome de inmunodeficiencia adquirida)

The intent appears to be for AIDS to match with SIDA but the addition of the (síndrome de inmunodeficiencia adquirida) causes no match to occur when AIDS SIDA occurs in the list to be compared against.

This is obviously human readable but fails in the machine-readable category.

1. Need to determine the correct cleanup
2. Decide where that cleanup will occur.
