New Issue Checklist

Steps to reproduce

Enter in a valid phone number. i.e (385) 445-3249. Go to just edit the area code. Delete a few characters and the result will be (38445-3249. For some reason the textfield after deleting 2/3 characters jumps back to the end of the phone number. I have to delete the whole number to get it to update the format. If I am not deleting the whole number and just select a number in the middle it always jumps to the end after deleting 2/3 characters.

Expected result

The expected result would be to delete the characters as they are displayed and updated the format as the user enters in the correct characters.

Actual result

Deletes the character then jumps to the last character in the phone number.
