mas outdated list App Silicio as outdated but when using mas upgrade completes checking mas outdated shows it is still outdated

Bug description

mas upgrades the app Silicio in Terminal but this app still shows in mas outdated .

@johnrm9 Please provide steps to reproduce, including commands & output.

@johnrm9 This cause of this issue is likely the same as #722; the version reported as the newest by the Mac App Store GUI (MAS) is likely no longer available, so it actually installs an older version.

Please try uninstalling the application via Finder, finding it in the MAS GUI, note the version displayed in the MAS GUI, install that version from the MAS GUI, then open the app & note the version in the app's About dialog, and note the versions of the app reported by mas list & mas info <app ID>. Then post all of the versions you noted above in a comment here.

MAS GUI shows the App as Silicio Mini Player version 3.6.7 as the latest version. But the MAS GUI install shows as version 3.4.7 in the Finder.

mas list should output info in a different format than mas info 933627574, but I don't see the output of the former in your comment. Note that mas list should be run separately from mas info 933627574 (the ampersand between them was not in a code block, it was just saying run the former & the latter).

Were you implying that the version for 933627574 from mas list is 3.6.7? Or is it 3.4.7? Or…?

933627574 is the MAS Id number for Silicio Mini Player. 3.6.7 is the MAS GUI version number. 3.4.7 is the version number from the Finder.
Maybe a new feature in the mas cli would be the ability to PIN a MAS App using the MAS Id number.
Pin similar to a Homebrew Pin: the MAS App would be listed as outdated but the pin would block any upgrades.

This definitely seems like the same issue as #722, which is that some parts of Apple's systems report a newer version number as the current version number, when the version that Apple installs is actually an older version.

We could try to mitigate this problem, but the problem exists in (& emanates from) Apple's systems.

Given other higher priority issues, outside commitments, and lack of devs, this probably won't be worked on for a while.

Thanks for your help. mas upgrade is working now for Silicio Mini Player. It was upgraded successfully to version 3.6.8 and mas outdated reported no upgrade need for it.
