Schema Documentation

You can get a long way with iodocs by looking at the provided examples, but I'm wondering if the API definition schema is actually documented somewhere. For example, what are all of the allowed types? Formats?

It's powerful, but as we upgrade I'm want to make sure we're making full use of what's available. Is there documentation that I'm missing?
