APIError (malformed or missing) API key on ios - even though the key is valid

Hello,
I'm consistently encountering the following error on iOS:
PlatformException(API_ERROR, The operation couldn’t be completed. Operation failed due to an invalid (malformed or missing) API key. See the developer's guide (https://developers.google.com/places/ios-sdk/start) for information on creating and using an API key., null, null))

I'm using the same API key for both Android and iOS. It works perfectly on Android, but I receive this error only on iOS.
The key has no restrictions, and I’ve also tried generating a new one, but the issue persists on iOS. I also tried limiting my key only to ios, still the same result.

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

For thous who struggling with the issue the solution is pretty simple - just enable the legacy Places API. while android can work with both legacy and new Places API iOS is working only with legacy. The library author needs to look at the project support and update the dependencies
