Support for the SNI NewMenu signal?

Will the systray applet ever support the NewMenu signal introduced by KDE?

I see that is used by QT right now. No idea if GTK even uses it. If it does someone would have to code that up, and I don't see enough importance to this to justify researching it myself. If someone wants to add such support and a test case for it I would test it though. Note that we are a very small team right now and could use more help.
