Log in option

It would be nice if there was a log in option to be able to access your list on multiple devices. I was transferring to this when I realized I couldn't access on both my tablet and phone. I know it's an offline source but I really love the features and layouts. Perhaps an online based one too? So you can have best of both worlds.

Maybe it would be feasible to sync with a (potentially selfhosted) Bookwyrm server ?

I feel like making this a client for Bookwyrm (even if only optionally) would supercharge its capacity to be a viable GoodReads alternative. A bad backup or a broken phone with a fully-offline data storage model means that your whole reading database is kaput, whereas having some sort of opt-in server backup, maybe even with the social niceties of an ActivityPub implementation, would make OpenReads significantly easier to use!

There are plans for online features for Openreads, although not as a Bookwyrm client.

Hello, there is a plan to create Openreads Hub - optional, and private platform books tracking with a self hosted option. When the plan is more developed I will share it and create a central discussion. For now I'm adding a hub label so we can track proposed features.
