RoomMember powerLevel reset to 0 after sync reconnect

I have recently updated sdk in Cinny from v37.5.0 to 38.2.0 and noticed that after a sync failure due to considerably long internet disconnect the RoomMember.powerLevel gets reset to 0 for some members.

Notice: The power level in m.room.power_levels remain correct.

Given I've never experienced this in EW, it seems surprising that it would be a js-sdk bug. Clearer reproduction steps/a regression test might help.

I can't reproduce it reliably but i do have checked RoomMembers for powerLevel and they had it set to 0 instead of 100 || 50.

They are not event.sender all my members are returned from Room.getMembers()

Happens to me again. I reconnected to internet after 8 hours.

• member are sorted by recent updated
• grouped by power level - high (top) to low (bottom)
• in screenshot "ajbura" is at the bottom and has power level = 0. (ignore the label "admin" as it doesn't depend on sdk)
