AWS OpenSearch setup docs have some issues right now.

Mainly the advanced settings in this section don't actually exist nor can be applied:

Resulting in the inability to purge indexes.

Alternatively the setting ElasticsearchSettings.IgnoredPurgeIndexes can be used to skip protected indexes. Which can be retrieved through a CURL query against the server: curl -u USER:PASS http://<HOSTNAME>/_cat/indices?v=true
