Regression: app does not inhibit screen blank/lock during call anymore, eventually interrupting call #10107

Description

@cd-eho

This is App Version: 2.43.1 (Build 6000806) on a Google Pixel 10, Android 17, 5 August 2026 security update.

Previously, the screen would stay blank and unlocked while a Mattermost call was ongoing. Not so anymore, this has two problems:

  • Access to the mute button becomes cumbersome, when in midst of a conversation you can not quickly unmute or mute yourself to responhd/suppress some environmental noise etc., when the screen lock just happened turned on
  • Call will eventually get interrupted. A longer session, where you mostly listen, are on stand-by or busy typing notes/looking something up on another device in parallel, thus not constantly tapping the phone for the screen to stay unlocked, the call will eventually silently terminate. This may be Androids overzealous power saving kicking in, but having the app set to "Allow background usage" and "Unrestricted" in the "App Info" battery usage settings does not help.

Previously, this issue did not exist, and one could hang out in a call for hours without touching the phone.
