Shippie Model Gateway and Premium MCP Servers

Hey guys,

Trying to gauge interest in some premium extensions for Shippie.

Model Gateway - codename Herb 🪴

The Shippie Mode Gateway would always use the best model for job in hand and the stage of the review pipeline. The idea is explained well by the sourcegraph team for their code generation tool, Amp.

Most users use GPT-4o with Shippie. This is far from the overall best model. Claude Sonnet 3.7 is a better agent. GPT-4.1 is better at function calling. Gemini 2.5 Pro is smarter and better at systems thinking. GPT-4.1-mini is much much quicker and cheaper at similar performance.

Making the user decide here seems like a less than ideal situation.

Pricing for the Model Gateway would be at cost to me and so users will benefit from high usage pricing and save money in many cases.

MCP Servers - codename Spice 🌶️

Since v0.14.0, users have been able to supply their own Model Context Protocol servers to give Shippie extra/external tools.

Let Shippie use some of the dedicated servers I built for this feature.

• Browser rendering allows shippie to start a server and navigate through a webapp to do automated QA.
• Sandbox code execution engine lets shippie benchmark code changes for performance.

No more needing to pull latest changes and run them to see if they work. Shippie will do it for you. By having this offering tied directly to Shippie, the agent performance can be maximised on these tools. Of course, you'd be free to replace them with other MCP Servers whenever.
