How to change the brush's shape ?

Is there a way to change the shape used by the brush ?

for example an oval and oblique brush which looks more like calligraphy?

Unluckily it can only the circular. It is obtained from a very short-dashed thick line with dash origin being offsetted to make the brush move forward, I think what you can obtain with this technique is only a circle.
