Create a FTP publisher

One thing that came into my mind was that actually a maven2 repos is just a structure of files and I could upload it to a webserver server and then have a a simple "maven repository". Of course nothing comparable like a nexus or similar, but usable for small projects and internal testing.

Therefore I think it would be good to have an (S)FTP publisher that simply updates the files on an remote server in a smart way, e.g. it should make sure the jar is uploaded before the metadata file is updated, and updating metadata in the correct order (e.g. childs first).

You can do that already, no? Just use the deploy publisher, and make sure SFTP wagon is present, and your deployment repo uses SFTP URLs? Ping back if you need help.

Maybe it is a documentation issue or a issue with me as a user don't know enough but lets say I start here

then there is a section

"Supported publishers are"

and I don't see any "deploy" publisher in that list. Also https://maveniverse.eu/docs/njord/using-it/#setting-it-up does not list it (but even have a shorter list than the readme).

Did not try, but:

• stage locally
• publish from locally staged store

As I said, use "deploy" publisher, and it obeys altDeploymentRepository and same thing applies as to "plain" Maven deploy, so alt deployment repository should be FTP (and FTP transport, like wagon-ftp should be present).

Doco will need a revamp, yes, as now we support nx3 as well.
