I myself wouldn't use the ttyS to connect to the devices. They have a tendency to change depending on what device gets recognized first. Instead I'd use the /dev/serial/by-id/whatever-the-device-is So I'd start with one serial device plugged in and doing a: ls /dev/serial/by-idyou'll see some 'forever-name' like:
This will never change for the device. No matter when it was plugged in or what usb port it was plugged into. Do this for the other device and then change the configurations for your programs to use the /dev/serial/by-id/forever-name instead of the /dev/ttyS |

Ah, I'm sorry. For some reason I had assumed that your serial devices were USB devices. You can check with the groups command. mbridak@fredo# groups
mbridak wheel dialoutOther than that, I'm at a loss. |

Hey Mike... Hey everyone... 73.
I'm a bit away because my Linux decided to boycott my cwdaemon and flrig. I can't get them to work. I have both serials ttyS4 (FLRig) and ttyS5 (cwdaemon), but they're not giving me CW control or CAT. So I can't use Not1MM. I've already uninstalled and reinstalled cwdaemon, but nothing... And if I format and reinstall my Ubuntu, I'll lose so many configurations that I can't even remember where I got help. So I don't know what to do... Has anyone experienced this and resolved it??? Please help me.
