[Aug 2025] [Grants] Curation Workflow Tracking

NCI funds new grants throughout the year. We typically curate and add these to the CCKP twice per year, or wait until there is a big batch to add since this process is not trivial.

Ideally by the end of Aug 2025 - in time for the site visit - we should add the following grants to our repertoire of infrastructure, curation, and listing on the CCKP:

MetNet:

• - U01 CA301426 (Monte Winslow, Dmitri Petrov; Stanford)
• - U01 CA300847 (Valerie Weaver, Sarah Knox; UCSF)
• - U01 CA289839 (Charles Perou, Lisa Carey; UNC)

PS-ON:

• - U01 CA293859
• - U01 CA305075
• - U01 CA283753

Information on these grants can be found on https://reporter.nih.gov/ and can be searched by the grant numbers listed above. Notably, none of these are U54 grants, so there is no need to curate sub-projects (typically done with the ProjectView manifest) for these grants.

• Curate list of grants to add (above)
• Populate GrantView manifest with grants to be added and identify new terms to be added to the data model
• Assign themes to new MC2 grants, ideally based on existing themes
• Update data model with new terms: new themes, grant numbers, etc
• Make further updates to GrantView manifest, as needed (following data model updates)
• Create Synapse projects for new MC2 grants with default wiki info and resource sub-folders
• GrantView manifest validated and uploaded + syncing scripts updated as needed
• Sync newly ingressed grant data to Portal - Grants Merged table
• Validate updated grant information on portal
• Push and confirm theme graphs on CCKP homepage have been updated (there is an action for Github for this that Verena or Ashley have controlled in the past)
• Ensure scopes are updated for new grants: DCA, UNION tables, etc.
• Ensure pubmed crawler is successfully picking up resources for new grants

25-8 Kick Off:

As of Aug 14: Info on 2 or 3 new grants available on NIH Reporter to facilitate curation: U01 CA301426 (Monte Winslow, Dmitri Petrov; Stanford), U01 CA289839 (Charles Perou, Lisa Carey; UNC). Still pending: U01 CA300847 (Valerie Weaver, Sarah Knox; UCSF)

Suggest picking this up in later Aug and hoping info for the third grant is up on NIH reporter. Goal here to have 3 new grants at least curated and added to the portal on time for the site visit. Remaining infrastructure set up steps can occur in parallel and/or after site visit.

Thanks @aditya-nath-sage . See my prior comment about CA300847 acknowledging that this is not on reporter yet. I would suspect that it should be available soon. Suggest that we revisit toward end of Aug

Three additional PS-ON grants added as of 2025.08.20. Information for these won't immediately be available in NIH reporter. Suggest that we deprioritize until information available and reprioritize for late 2025.
