Can you quantify "slow to start"? I've not yet encountered any problem like that.I never heard of Crystal before you mentioned it here. It doesn't seem that interesting to me. If I want/need a real performance boost for some application (part) I would write it in C++.So, no I have absolutely no plans to create a wxWidgets binding for Crystal (or any other language besides Ruby). On 20 Jun 2025 15:24, xiaojin2630 ***@***.***> wrote:
Hi, the wxruby3 you wrote is very good, I have been writing some GUI tools with it recently, which facilitates my daily work, thank you very much.
However, since Ruby is an interpreted language, GUI scripts are a bit slow to start, and I've been thinking about improving this. It wasn't until I met Crystal, I loved the Ruby language, the features, and I felt like I couldn't leave Crystal anymore. Then there's the tool to write my GUI using Crystal wxWidgets; But after my investigation, I found that wxwidgets cannot be used directly under Crystal (no binding for this language was found).
I was thinking, if you can write wxwidgets in Ruby, you might as well be able to write a binding in Crystal.
Do you have such a plan?
