setting public => private

I wonder if there is a way to set all media items from public to private (e.g. to rework the appearance of the site).

You cannot do it through the application now, although it will be possible to do bulk actions soon on a user's media level.

If you are ok with logging into the Django shell, you can do it through it. Get into the Django shell with command make admin-shell , then run python manage.py shell and then import Media and execute the update. Example:

root@mediacms:~/mediacms# make admin-shell 
root@09dc2e64606f:/home/mediacms.io/mediacms# python manage.py shell
>>> from files.models import *
>>> Media.objects.filter().update(state='private')

Thank you for your swift answer. I will try, but since I am not familiar with this kind of procedure here is another question: how to appropriatly backup the mediacms install?
