Feature: Partial & Staggered Payments on Orders

• Allow a single order to have multiple payments (advance + balance, split due to card limits, staggered against PO).
• Track total_paid and derive payment_status (unpaid, partially_paid, paid) based on the order total.
• Enable creation of new payment attempts (for remaining/custom amount) after order creation, including days later.
• Support multiple providers and offline/manual payments, all reconciled against the same order.
• Expose APIs and Admin UI to view all payments, initiate additional ones, and prevent overpayment by default.

Uhm, not exactly sure but carts have the concept of payment collections. I think I can remember right when i was implementing custom order logic that the system totally would be ready for that
