Issue Summary

Hello,

I created a single product on a new deployment with new database according to the instruction steps in https://docs.medusajs.com/user-guide/products/create, but with only mandatory fields, leaving all the optional fields empty, just to see the product somehow in the storefront.

What I added additionally to the product are:

• Default Sales Channel (prechosen automatically)
• Collection
• Category
• Default Variant with it's assigned prices and with it's managed inventory with 1 available quantity and product image.
• the product is published

But I still don't see the product in the storefront. Obviously there is something more missing which is mandatory and that is not mentioned in documentation.

I tried both, vendor-panel and admin-panel.

Can you provide us some code that shows how you are querying the backend? Are you using api endpoints directly or js sdk? Without that I would say its almost impossible to understand your issue.

It would also be great to see some request logs from your browser to see what the underlying error message is.

We found the reason. The publishable API key should have the same sales channel as the product itself. I'm missing such a notice in the documentation.

I would add a notice like this:
"Ensure products are added to the same sales channel your publishable API key is configured for"
somewhere in this page:
https://docs.medusajs.com/user-guide/products/create
