Missing thecodingmachine files

I'm running TYPO3 v11.5.33 with PHP 7.4.33 and installed phpMyAdmin v6.1.0 via "composer require mehrwert/phpmyadmin". When I click on the new "phpMyAdmin" item in the backend, I get the error: require(/public/typo3conf/ext/phpmyadmin/Vendor/phpMyAdmin-5.2.1-all-languages/vendor/composer/../thecodingmachine/safe/generated/apache.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory
And in fact, the directory "generated" does not exist. public/typo3conf/ext/phpmyadmin/Vendor/phpMyAdmin-5.2.1-all-languages/vendor/thecodingmachine/safe/ only contains the directories deprecated and lib.

After deleting directory thecodingmachine/safe/ and manually calling "composer install" in public/typo3conf/ext/phpmyadmin/Vendor/phpMyAdmin-5.2.1-all-languages, the extension works now. But this is certainly not the expected workflow :-)
(Removing and reinstalling the phpMyAdmin extension via composer didn't help.)
