Please tag releases

Hi,
I'm a member of the Debian Med team, which is a group inside Debian with the objective to package free software in life sciences for main Debian. I might consider packaging DNApy. To do so it would be very helpful if you would use release tags to enable automatic tools detecting new releases.

Hi Andreas,
Packaging for Debian would be very nice! The project has been dormant and neglected for the last few years. I was just planning on picking it up again. When I do so I will modify the setup file to include version details.

Good to hear! Consider using versioneer for versioning using git tags. I use it and it works great.
Also consider setting up automatic testing and building. Once it is up and running, it saves a lot of time.
