Video crashing bug

After update to immich server v2.0.1 - Stable Release, i have some issues with videos on the server, immich-Gallery is crashing and i am on the appletv frontend again and have to start the app again.

I'll take a look when I can. However, I don't seem to be having any problems on server version 2.0.1.

i´ve uploaded a video to Server 1.x and upgraded server to 2.0.1. All other iOS Devices has latest immich app and working fine, i can play the video. On AppleTV with tvOS 26 the immich gallery plays the video for about 6 seconds and then i am on the home screen from AppleTV again, so this looks to me that the app is crashing.

Can you please open beta test with testflight again for this app on AppleTV? I would like to test and also support you with a small amount if this is working fine again.

That sounds like it maybe running out of memory. I'll take a look, will need a few days. Currently a bit busy. I'll get back to ya. Might need your help reproducing the issue.

OK App Store doesn't let me add an internal tester without adding users to account. I have submitted a build for Beta App Review. It'll be available to download on Test Flight once approved.

Thx, TestFlight is working now. Installed 1.5.1 build 1 big still the same issue, one video is always crashing. On iPad and iPhone Eis latest iOS 26.0.1 it is working fine with Immich App.Is there any option I can debug or collect cars information to send to you?

Updated today all immich versions on server and ios to release https://github.com/immich-app/immich/releases/tag/v2.1.0. Video Crash still exists. Wondering that this issue was well known on android and fixed a few month ago.

The video you're running into this issue on, is it only some videos? videos from your phone or something else?

Is it possible to share one?

I am not currently equipped to collect/handle crash reports. I think there is a setting on Apple TV that allow sharing crash report with developer. I'll find it for you later.

unfortunately i am not allowed to share this. at this time i see only this video crashing the system and only on atv with your app. All other systems are running fine. The original Video was made with a GoPro Hero 7 Black and has following data:

Just a short upgrade on information. i did reencode the movie with handbrake 1.10.2 with same codec and reuploaded to server with a different name. this new file is playing without crash. then i deleted the original file, reuploaded with the original name and date and now it plays. stopps, the spinning wheel comes, plays again and after the next spinning wheel it crashes.

Next Problem with this beta, it is not possible to add another user, window size is not matching anymore and remote keyboard from iphone is no longer working for easier typing:

Another Problem. I set on the server my own album images. i set immich-Gallery not to change the album covers randomly, but the album icon is different than on the server set. i tried to refresh, but no luck.

After some additional investigation i found that the problem is mainly with HEVC 4K Videos made with a GoPro Hero 7 Black set to 50 FPS. If i reencode them with Handbrake they are working. But this is a nogo for me, as the videos are playing fine on iPad and iPhone. So please check what has changed on Release V2.x within the immich apps for iDevices.
