Experiment: as documented in: https://doi.org/10.5194/gmd-16-6127-2023. Forced ocean - sea ice simulation following the CORE-II protocol:

  • Initial conditions: Potential temperature & salinity from WOA 2013 v2 decav; zero SSH; ocean at rest. Sea ice concentration and thickness fixed to 100 % and about 3 m (1 m), respectively, in regions north of 70°N and south of 60°S.
  • Time period: 1 Jan 1958 - 31 Dec 2022 (extended past 2018 wrt the reference publication).
  • Forcings: JRA55-do v1.4 (v1.5 for years past v1.4).
  • Model output: monthly means for the whole simulated period; daily means starting from year 2009.
