Use GSplat plugin with Meshroom-2025.1.0

Hello,

I am currently trying to install your plugin mrGSplat using the compiled version of Meshroom (Meshroom-2025.1.0) on Ubuntu 24.

So far, I've tried several installation methods — such as using a virtual environment (venv) and installing dependencies through Meshroom's embedded Python — but unfortunately, none have worked for me.

If you have a step-by-step guide or any recommended instructions for this setup, could you please share them?

Same under Win 11.

1. I tried to place it under Meshroom-2025.1.0\plugins (mrSegmentation plugin is already there)
2. I tried to place it under Meshroom-2025.1.0\
3. I tried to create a folder "meshroom" under user\AppData\Roaming and place it there
4. I tried to change structure under Meshroom-2025.1.0\plugins\mrGSplat to fit existing mrSegmentation: rename folder "nodes" to "meshroom". (...which is also required by INSTALL_PLUGINS.md

For 1 - 4 I set environment variables with absolute paths:
set MESHROOM_PLUGINS_PATH=/path/to/customPlugin;%MESHROOM_PLUGINS_PATH%

I tried to implement the Rez environment to integrate the Gaussian Splatting nodes, but after several trials I found nearly imposible to sucessfully launch Meshroom UI, despite the GSplat, Torch, Pyside6 and all dependencies were installed. Meshroom simply crash with this command rez-env mrGSplat meshroom -- python -m meshroom but with the following command, the env is launch and all librares load rez-env mrGSplat meshroom PySide6 PySide6_Addons PySide6_Essentials shiboken6 So the conclusion from my point of view is that GSplat is not integrated with meshoom due to some fundamental incompatibilities. Maybe i`m wrong.

I installed the plugin quite easily:
I downloaded the zip archive instead of cloning the repository. I unpacked it and moved the contents to the plugins directory.
The nodes appeared.
If you clone the repository, not all nodes will be available.

Just to be clear: You mean, you click on Code (green button - upper right corner and Download ZIP)
That's exactly what I do, but I only get 3 nodes (Win 11 and Ubuntu 24.04).

Yes, that's exactly what I did.
But strangely, I tried downloading the archive again and it changed—now there are only three nodes in it...
You can try the archive in the pinned files.

I wonder if I somehow downloaded an old version? Or maybe the archive was replaced?
Judging by the code in the files, they are clearly different!

Perhaps, as I already wrote in another thread with a question:

this is the reason why the gaussianSplattingOptim node is not working.
I still haven't been able to run the test scene that comes with the plugin (

I tried git clone, download actual archive and yours.

I would like to receive more detailed instructions on how to install your plugin under MeshRoom.
Judging by the comments, all attempts by several people have been unsuccessful!
This is unfortunate, as I would like to test this plugin.

well, I had the same issues as you guys ....there is a bug in the gaussianSplattingPhotogrammetry.mg file:

but the "0+develop" must be an integer. So, in an editor, just delete the "+develop". You can then load the pipeline in Meshroom. I have not tested the pipeline itself yet.

As for installing the plugin ... I found the documentation, lets say ... confusing ..., and just put a symbolic link in Meshroom-2025.1.0/plugins to where I downloaded the mrGSplat.

I did the same symbolic link as @beaki and edited the .mg file also but unfortunately getting stuck on the #6 error now.
