Various issues with Bootstrap 5 update

There's a few minor issues with the site after the bootstrap upgrade.

• source pages/code blocks with horizontal scrolling display badly.
• Visual indicator for version dropdown in breadcrumb has gone missing.
• ? icon for missing river data is not really appropriate. Missing data should mean a new dist, which means nothing depends on it yet.
• Text that is abbreviated in the center using ellipsis (ellipsis class) displaying too wide.
• Logout link displays differently from other dropdown options.

Yes, but it is still functional if you click on where it should be:

The select element has opacity: 0, so it is 100% transparent. I suspect something is trying to render the dist name as both a (possibly hyperlinked) text and a switchable dropdown because if the dist name is not hyperlinked, the whole word acts as a clickable dropdown (but with no visual indication).

The caret for the version dropdown was actually just removed in the bootstrap upgrade. Should be fixed by #3635

The issue with the ellipsis abbreviated text was caused by #3618. The code is expecting the text to be the only thing in the enclosing block element.

Previously I could sort releases not only by name and date but also by number dependencies, that seems to be no longer possible (and I'm guessing it's related to the bootstrap upgrade).

I find POD on MetaCPAN quite difficult to read. There’s very little spacing between =item entries, and C<> formatting is hard to distinguish from regular text. In my opinion, GitHub’s rendering is much easier to read, compare:
