Selecting 'Add empty after current' displays the value of previous controlled terms in the UI

The fields 'Name Type' and 'Contributor Type' of 'Contributors' element are controlled terms. When I create an initial instance of Contributors and then select 'Add empty after current', the second instance visually replicates the values from the first instance. However, the corresponding JSON-LD is empty.
