Critical Components to Backup

Microsoft 365 DSC contains many components that are non-functional. From an operational perspective, what are the critical components that should be backed up and restored when required (for example: AAD, EXO, O365, Azure, SPO, OneDrive, and Teams)?

I’ve also noticed that the default full export takes a very long time and often fails.

Does anyone have a working, reliable script that selectively exports these key components and can be scheduled to run automatically?

@Aussupport There is no real list which includes "important" or critial components to backup. Usually, the default export is the way we suggest for components that are purely configuration and not "data" oriented. However, some components like AADServicePrincipal which can be looked at as configuration as well, are omitted from the default export because they take a long time to complete. It's best to review the included componentes with Get-M365DSCResourcesByExportMode, where you have the option to exclude configuration resources (meaning the one in the default export mode) if you select the Full mode. That way, you'll only receive the delta between the two modes and can examine yourself what you are most interested in.
