Toggle for switching between rounded and squared zones in FancyZones

Description of the new feature / enhancement

Supply a toggle for users to switch between rounded and squared zones in FancyZones.

Scenario when this would be used?

This option would be helpful for users who set their windows corners rounded but get distracted by how the zone corners unsatisfyingly remain squared with no way to change it to rounded corners.

I'm using the latest version of PowerToys, v0.57.2. I am attaching here a screenshot of the FancyZones option that you might be referring to but not the setting I'm looking for.

Oh, you mean the zones... What is the use case? The layout are not often visible, right? We would like to know the "necessity", in order to prioritize.

That's correct. Now, while the zones are not always visible all the time compared to windows, I can say I tend to activate the zones quite often. In my regular workflow here at home, I find myself dragging windows frequently between my two monitors so I also see my zones just as frequently. Seeing how my window corners don't match with the rectangular zones somehow leaves a lingering dissatisfaction within as if the rounded windows aren't meant to fit into the rectangular zones. Having this dissatisfaction build-up could challenge the desire of any casual developer for an optimal, uninterrupted, and happy work performance. I believe it's nicely beneficial for us working with contentment and peace of mind consistently.

Meanwhile, this also raises motivation knowing that this area in the design could be improved in the succeeding updates just as how the toggle for the window corners was already supplied. I think I'm the first one who raised this concern here, so let me know what you think. Thanks, Jay.

Well, I'm not the designer for FancyZones, so I can't really decide. I can say this is going to be a very low priority, if at all. I can give an honest and personal opinion: the rounded corners a first a property of windows. Zones are more abstract (they simply define an area) and I think rectangles are good in that way. Also, Windows 10 doesn't deal with the corners at all and I think we should be as inclusive as possible. Plus, some windows/apps (possibly with custom UI like Firefox for example) just don't deal with the corners either. Rounded zone corners with (occasional) straight window corners is just as uncomfortable.

Thank you very much, Jay. I submitted this issue because I mistakenly thought the resolution to the problem I described would be just as simple as the toggle for window corners. Nevertheless, I was indeed expecting this to be a low priority that's why I only submitted a new feature suggestion and not a bug report. I'll just stand by for now and wait for the demand for a resolution to increase.

Since this issue is labeled Needs-Triage, does it mean this request is placed in the project's update queue regardless (not necessarily in the next immediate update)?
