Change language by switching input method. When your input method switched to English, it will recognize English text.

Scenario when this would be used?

When there are different languages on your screen, and you don't want to change the language manually.

FYI there is a current shortcut which is number 1 to select the first language 2 to select the second etc.

Yes, but you may forget what number 5 or 6 is when there are lots of languages. So you may need more time to find it.
