Steps to reproduce
Hello overyone,
I am running PowerToys 0.87.1 on Windows 11 24H2 on a unsupported hardware. No TPM 2.0 and an i7 3770 (unsupported) CPU.
The account I am logging into is an admin account. Its not a local / offline account. Its registered with Microsoft. Typical Windows installation.
I have noticed that intermittently my t key would stop working on my Logitech G915 TKL tactile "Lightspeed" Wireless keyboard. I would be in the middle of the sentence and all of a sudden - i would sop working. At first I thought its a problem with a keyboard however... Fist - the keyboard is couple months old AND even more important - reboot would always fix it. And so I kept rebooting whenever the issue arouse - maybe once or twice a week.
I had thought about better solution for this issue. I was suspecting that GHub application (Logitech application for their G line-up hardware) could be responsible and so I thought "Next time it happens I will close that application and see if that helps."
Today after the issue has raised its ugly head I thought OK enough is enough. I have had it with the snakes on the plane... and I thought OK - lets kill the GHub application - right click, on the GHub tray icon and "Quit" and... still no t's on the screen.
Then I thought I will keep murdering processes and see what will fix the issue.
I have exited the main PowerToys icon and the issue stopped.
I have restarted the app and the t's are still working but I am 99.9% sure it was PowerToys that killed my T's.
I am using 5 of the PowerToys tools:
Awake:
Mouse Highlighter:
Workspaced:
PowerToys Run:
And finally (this might be the culprit but I have not tested it yet) Keyboard Manager:
Why am I suspecting Keyboard Manager? Because one of the rules that I am using in there is:
Is this something I am certain of? Hell no... Its a guess. Maybe next time when this happens instead of closing off the entire PowerToys app I will try shutting down one tool at the time and see if one of them does the trick.
Do I know how to reproduce this issue? No. Its intermittent. It happens when it happens out of a blue.
Right now I wanted to file this bug report so that MAYBE someone who has similar issue can join in on the action.
Have I searched for similar issues? Yes.
Have I found something similar? I found a thread stating that GHub was responsible but nothing about PowerToys.
Apologies if I missed something and messed up.
Don't hesitate to ask any additional questions as I am sure I missed some info I should be providing here.
Thanks in advance for any help provided.
Kindest regards.
