Unable to run NativeModuleSample #11183

After having trouble implementing a Native Module for Windows following the documentation on Microsoft's website I tried running the NativeModuleSample\cppwinrt. After following the instructions in the respective README.md I am left with the following error: Any idea what I am doing wrong? Also is the documentation on how to create a native module correct on Microsoft's website? I was able to easily create a Native Module for android but am having continuous issues doing so for the Windows version. |

MIDL is a build tool that's a bit beyond React Native's role in this. It's used to compile UWP apps and such and is an independent tool. An error that indicates... something deeper probably? A next step would be to try building this in Visual Studio instead of via the commandline, and enabling verbose build logging. There's a link in your error message there that indicates some troubleshooting information - not sure if it's useful or not. Example of other issue that involved tangoing with MIDL: #10414 |

@treadways have you tried using visual sutudio 2019 or the 2022 to build the solution? lately I have had problems with the CLI related to visual studio 2022, but also related to 2019, so what I do is open the solution directly in visual studio and build the solution, as it is written in the documentation. |

@treadways it looks like you used the react-native cli to build the solution and opened the project folder instead of the solution, if you did look for a file in "windows/project-name/project-name.sln" and click on the button with the debug option selected. |
