Terminal crashes taking all processes attached with it if it loses gpu context

Other Software

AMD GPU Drivers, possibly others but dont have any to test

Steps to reproduce

Have Terminal doing things in the background involving a process that constantly writes to the terminal, like rclone or something else with verbose output
Trigger a gpu driver crash and let it recover

Expected Behavior

Terminal to survive gpu context loss at least in a minimal way allowing the user to stop work safely and recover if necessary

Actual Behavior

Terminal will appear after recovery with a frame and nothing but white as the window contents followed shortly by crashing completely. Any running processes in the terminal windows will die shortly after

I have the same issue with the latest Nvidia driver.

I am affected by this as Terminal crashes whenever I connect or disconnect my AMD eGPU.

Jeez how did I never see this one on the triage queue before?! Sorry about that!

We do have another thread over here: #12598. That one tracked it down to an internal bug (MSFT:38159926) in Windows 11, somewhere in DWM. That bug was fixed recently (last week), so it'll probably be a few weeks before that fix flows out to insiders, et.al. I'll follow up in a few weeks to see if that's been resolved.
