Hi. Is it possible to TRANSMIT radio? For example, bcm4334 has a built-in radio tranwmitter (but it needs a separate antenna, i am not sure that it is connected, but if not, it can be connected :) Have you tried this? Do you know anything about it?

The Spirit Transmit app on Play works on rooted Sony Xperia T, Z and Z1 class Qualcomm FM/combo chip based devices.

Spirit2 and Spirit2 Free have a transmit mode that works on the same devices, but with fewer features like no RDS from media info.

I also have a leaked Broadcom BCM transmit app that works on now very ancient T-Mobile MyTouch running stock Android 2.2.

But I am aware of no other Android phones/tablets that are physically capable of FM transmit, except for some Japan market only devices.

Broadcom seems to have removed FM transmit from their latest BCM combo chips.

In all cases, there is a special FM transmit pin, and on the vast, vast majority of phones this pin is grounded and rendered useless. Heck, well over 50% of Android flagships now have the FM receive pin grounded, quite purposely to disable the possibility of FM permanently; North American carriers, Google and Apple all make a bit more money when we can't get free FM.

Hi mikereidis, there is a way for test a fm transmitter on a old bcm4329? The phone is Huawei U8160 ( Vodafone 858 ) I tried your app fmtx.apk ( com.real.htc )
