vertico-multiform-grid: icons and more precise sorting

Hello,

I use nerd-icons-completion to display icons in find-file, and those icons appear in vertico's default vertical mode. I'm experimenting with putting the "file" completion category to vertico-multiform-grid, and I appreciate to be able to see more files in one display, but I miss the icons, I notice that those icons visually helped me to find files and directories. Does anybody have a way to display icons in vertico-multiform-grid? I've found this discussion that talks about that, but that was in 2022, maybe things have changed and improved since then.

Also, I like that I can sort directories first, but I would like to also have the directories and then files sorted alphabetically. Can I have all those options altogether?

Unfortunately not. We still need a more flexible decoration-function which would replace the annotation-function and affixation-function.
