I have a massive memory leak that keeps growing until the whole software crashes.

Negative, this starts to happen exactly once i start mixxx the ram goes up by 30MB each second up to my 32gb ram.
I am quite new to mixer so this quite confuses me, all i did was add a library of songs.

Is version 2.5.3 also affected?

I uninstalled and installed the 2.5.3 version, apperently yes. it is still slowly ramping up the ram by 30mb each second.

Here are a few things you can try to narrow it down:

• super excessive logging? quit Mixxx as soon as you notice the increase in mem, check if the log file is abnormally large. if yes, attach it here
• waveform issue? disable scrolling waveforms in the preferences
• hidden track loading that hits a bug? go to your settings directory and remove samplers.xml

So i believe i found not really the cause, but i have found out that ram jumps up only when mixxx is opened, once it's minimalized the ram stays stable, also is it normal for this software to be running in 20fps ?

So apparently this is a GUI-related issue?
Did you test the different waveform types? Disable waveforms? Hide spinnies via the skin settings menu?
Disable all inputs that might drive VU meters?
Start Mixxx from the command line with --safe-mode argument?

What target framerate did you set in Preferences -> Waveforms?
What's your OpenGL info? -> at bottom of that pref page

So about the wave forms, i run them disabled so i know that is not the cause.
Not sure how do i hide the spinnies.

And also i should mention this

Target fps is 60 so this does not look right. The whole window is laggy.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN WE FOUND THE ISSUE.

I am using a software that does an overlay for what ever you setup GPU temp, FPS, you can also limit FPS so you dont kill your gpu which i have hard limit of 120 fps on every game.

If i disable the overlay the ram does not jump by 30MB each second and i can reproduce this just by a single click.
ALSO SPINNIES apperently will run down your FPS to 20, once disabled we are back to 60fps.

Reopening this since it feels not okay that Mixxx has a memory issue just because another app is running.
Though I'm not familiar with how this relates to the OpenGL stuff, what's your opinion @acolombier?

I just wanna clarify what this overlay does to the mixxx if i show waveforms, but yes even with these hidden the memory still spikes up. So disabling the overlay will fix the issue.

and no i have not tried using the command line, i am not exactly sure how i would aproach that.
