+## 25 Years of Mixxx Intergalactic DJ Contest
+
+To celebrate the 25th anniversary of [Mixxx](https://mixxx.org) and its community, we want to organize an event where everyone can show how they use Mixxx, what tricks Mixxx lets them do — show Mixxx is made to let you 'DJ your way' and how much fun we all get out of it.
+
+## Who?
+Everyone who loves DJing, whether you are a Bedroom DJ, a Tango DJ, a Wedding Party DJ, a Club DJ, or a Famous Event DJ — everyone is invited to join.
+
+## What?
+In 3 rounds (or 2 if there are no more than 25 candidates), our community chooses who will be the **'25 Years of Mixxx DJ Contest Winner'**.
+
+- **Round 1** = up to 100 candidates  
+- **Round 2** = 25 candidates (skipped if fewer than 25 total participants)  
+- **Final** = 10 finalists
+

+In addition to unlimited fame and honor, thanks to the valued support of manufacturers and vendors, we can also honor the laureates with fantastic prizes.
+All prizes will be displayed on a prize table (table-quiz concept). When the results of the final are known, the laureates will be able to choose a prize from the prize table in the order of the final results: first the highest-ranked finalist, then the second-ranked... and so on, as long as prizes are available.
+If finalists finish tied, the points obtained in the second and (if necessary) first rounds will be counted. If this does not lead to a clearer ranking, the order in which the candidates submitted their first video will be taken into consideration (numbering in the first round).
+

+* Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash, prizes are sent from Germany; while everyone can participate, it is possible that participants from certain countries may not be able to choose & receive a prize if no customs agreements exist between the participant's country and the European Union.*

+**Important:** You must use Mixxx. You can use any version, including your own custom build (e.g. Mixxx 2.5.4 with extra features).
+
+
+## Round 1 – Open to everyone (maximum 100)
+
+- Prepare a set of **maximum 6 minutes** and practice it. (videos with a duration between 5:50 & 6:10 are accepted)
+- Your set must contain **2 samples** that are clearly audible **3 times each**:
+    - "Mixxx", "Mix" ...
+    - "25" (in English)
+(You can use a sample, a part of a song (e.g., from original stems), a recording of yourself, etc.)
+
+- To keep it fun for the audience and avoid monotonous Trance, Techno, or Disco sets, participants must use **2 tracks** whose original release dates differ by **at least 25 years** abd have an original BPM difference of **at least 25 BPM** Both tracks must be audible and recognizable for at least 25 seconds.
+
+**Example:** A Techno track from 2015 with BPM > 130 and a Pop/Disco/Soul classic from before 1988 with BPM < 105.
+

+### Important Dates – Round 1
+
+- **Video submission deadline:** September 30th, 18:00 CET
+- **Voting opens:** October 7th, 18:00 CET
+- **Voting closes:** October 18th, 18:00 CET
+- **Votes per community member:** 5
+
+
+## Round 2 – 25 candidates
+*(This round will be cancelled if we have fewer than 25 participants total)*
+
+Participants in the second round are the DJs whose videos are in the **top 25** of votes after Round 1.
+- Prepare a set of **maximum 8 minutes** and practice it. (videos with a duration between 7:50 & 8:10 are accepted)
+- The specific required samples and tracks for round 2 will be communicated at the start of voting for Round 1.
+- As the time between submitting your Mix for round 2 will be limited, we would like to advise you to prepare a set as soon as voting for round 1 starts.
+
+### Important Dates – Round 2
+
+- **Video submission deadline:** November 4th, 18:00 CET
+- **Voting opens:** November 11th, 18:00 CET
+- **Voting closes:** November 22nd, 18:00 CET
+- **Votes per community member:** 3
+
+
+## Round 3 – Final (10 finalists)
+
+Prepare a set containing:
+- Prepare a set of **maximum 10 minutes** and practice it. (videos with a duration between 9:50 & 10:10 are accepted)
+- The specific required samples and tracks for round 2 will be communicated at the start of voting for Round 2.
+- As the time between submitting your Mix for the final will be limited, we would like to advise you to prepare a set as soon as voting for round 2 starts.
+

+### Important Dates – Final
+
+- **Video submission deadline:** December 2nd, 18:00 CET
+- **Voting opens:** December 9th, 18:00 CET
+- **Voting closes:** December 20th, 18:00 CET

+
+> A tie for first, second, and third place is possible. If this is the case, we will take into account the results of round 2 and, if necessary, round 1 to determine the order in which the laureates can choose a prize. If this still results in a tie, we will look at the order in which the first video was submitted (date and time of receipt of the participation email).
+
+
+## How to Participate (Procedure for all rounds)
+
+### 1. Make a video of your set
+- The **Mixxx GUI must be visible in fullscreen** throughout the entire set so we can see (and check) your actions.
+- You must perform **live** (no pre-recorded set).
+- Preferable: 1080p HD & HQ Audio.
+- Mouse movements or controller operation do not need to be visible.
+- Do **not** add subtitles to the video.
+- Upload your video to **YouTube as a private video (unlisted)** (only visible to those with the link). Share the link with **no one else than Mixxx**.

+- Link to your video
+- Your first and last name
+- Your DJ name and age (indicate whether we may mention your age)
+- A name for your set
+- The timestamps where the required samples are audible

+- The controller you use (if applicable)
+in the example: 2x Traktor Kontrol F1 (1 mapped to mixer faders, 1 for stems)

+- A few lines about yourself: your DJ history, interests, style, and musical preferences
+
+Complete the following tect and copy it to your participation email:

+### 3. What we will do next
+- Download your video
+- Add a *"25 Years of Mixxx"* intro and outro to your video
+- Add a description page & thumbnail containing:
+    - A number (the order we receive videos) for voting
+    - Your DJ name (and age if permitted)
+    - The lines you wrote about yourself
+- Check if the video meets the requirements. We will mark (subtitle) the occurrences of the required samples and tracks.
+- Upload the video to the **Mixxx YouTube channel**
+- Prepare a voting topic on our **Discourse forum** and open it for voting on the correct date & time
+- Participants will be shown in the order we received their email with the video link, with **DJ Name, Set Name, and video link**
+

+## Rules & Agreements
+
+By participating in the *25 Years of Mixxx DJ Contest*, you agree to the following:
+
+- Your video is **original** and created by yourself, no post-editing is permitted (adding effects or samples outside of Mixxx).
+- Your video was made **specifically** for this contest.
+- Your video will **not** be shared with anyone or any other organization besides Mixxx.
+- Mixxx may use (parts of) your video for publicity, as an example, or for explanation — in that case, we will always mention your DJ name.
+- Your DJ name and video will be displayed on our discussion forum for voting.
+- The DJ names and videos of the finalists and winners will be included in news articles on [the Mixxx website](https://mixxx.org).
+- **Voting and ranking are done exclusively by the community** — the community votes for their favorites, in the first round, they need to vote for exactly 5 different participants, in the second round they need to vote for exactly 3 different participants and in the final every community member can only vote for 1 finalist.
+- During the voting no one can see intermediate results, the result will appear automatically at the moment the voting ends, during the vote the number of community members that voted will be indicated.
+- Videos containing offensive language (including from unintended sample combinations) will be excluded.
+- Some Jury members will check the videos against the requirements. If a video does not meet the requirements, it will **not** be selected without consultation.The Jury members will also check if the video does not contain post-editing (adding effects or samples outside of Mixxx) and if the videos contain no offensive or insulting language.
+- We hope all DJs behave fairly: this is a competition based on **skill and musical knowledge**, not a popularity contest.
+- Core Mixxx members reserve the right to disqualify participants due to misconduct.
+- If there are not enough participants, the second round may be skipped. In that case, after the first round, the final follows with the scheduled dates and 10 finalists.
+- If multiple participants share the last qualifying spot for the next round, **all** of them will advance.
+
