**4. Additional Details:**

Currently the cloud control only includes commands through the API. However, through the soliscloud platform it is also possible to control the battery in realtime. I.e., put the baterry in charge/discharge or standby mode with time control (hours) and charge/discharg. The json action above illustrates the Standby command for 1 hour.
It would be great to have this implemented in the solis cloud control.

I've looked into on-demand battery control, but without proper support from Solis it would require reverse-engineering the protocol. It would be a lot of work and carry a high risk that the final solution would be fragile and hard to maintain. For example, I need a reliable way to determine whether the inverter supports the feature. I'm open to adding new features within the 'v3' Solis API, but at least protocol documentation is needed.

I've contacted Solis support several times with questions about the official API and have never received a useful response. If you could ask local Solis support for new API documentation, that would help.

I have asked my supplier for documentation on the v3 API. Let's see if they respond with usefull information.

I understand the risk around the implementation and reverse engineering. I have no knowledge about other inverters, although one could suspect that the on-demand battery control is equal for all hybrid inverters (charge/discharge/standby). It is an addition to the standard API which does not require an api ID or api Secret, so quite a bit simpler. Only basic login is required.

I’d like to ask you one more question. When you enable standby mode for 1 hour (or charge/discharge), how does it affect existing charge/discharge slot settings?

It doesn't seem to affect the charge/discharge slot settings at all. It looks like it's just an override for a specific amount of time.
After that the system returns to the configured setup.

After enabling the standby mode, a 'real time control' appears next to the EMS (and the EMS is set to 'ON'), so probably it's a part of the EMS configuration (and that could be the reason they don't release any documentation)

Unfortunately, my supplier also isn't very useful. According to them, Solis claims there is no v3 api, the existing documentation is the latest. So that doesn't contain information on how to control the battery real-time.

Thank you for contacting your supplier. It didn’t help this time, but it may be worth trying to find a Solis engineer who is willing to help.

I excluded this issue from auto-closing after 30 days of inactivity and edited the title for clarity.

I agree that real-time battery control might be a useful feature, but right now I’m a bit short on time. Even if we could easily duplicate a web-based protocol, this feature should be implemented with care to avoid breaking existing features.

• password to the Solis portal must be a part of configuration flow (optional?)
• we don't know v3 API limits with relation to v2 API (if any?)
• controls, power and duration are dependant fields, how to model them as Home Assistant entities?
• real-time battery control should be enabled only for hybrid inverter with connected battery (easy to check), but what about supported dataloggers and firmware?
• diagnostic information should be enhanced to show battery real-time status, it would be a huge time saver for troubleshooting with the integration users
