Initial Login/Default credentials not working -- Fresh Docker install

Did a new, first-time install following the instructions for Docker. It all appears to work correctly. I am able to access the interface. When I reach the instruction to enter the default credentials (admin/birdcage), I get a popup error message:
{hostname}:7008 says
An error occured while logging in
[OK]

If it matters it's a Debian install, otherwise functional and running Frigate_nvr and a couple of hang-off applications.

Did I miss something obvious?

I had this exact problem. Press F12 and check the debug log as you try to login. If you see a CORS error, that means that your ANALYZE_SERVER, CORS_ORIGINS, and/or API_SERVER_URL aren't matching each other in the docker_config.yaml, or they're not matching the URL you're connecting to. I had been connecting using a hostname, and the YAML was expecting an IP address.

I moved over to birdnet-go and got it working enough to POC it, but came up against the terrible quality of my audio source (coming from a security cam). Because it's a wife-approved (wife-driven, now that she's seen it) project, I actually have a budget, and since I'm looking at hardware anyway, I'm probably going to land on just buying the PUC from birdweather so it's nice and slick for her.
