Verification Checklist — Issue Fixes #636, #640, #641, #649

✅ Issue #636: PayoutsService Stripe Fee Deduction

Code Changes:

  • payout.entity.ts: Added stripeFee column
  • payouts.service.ts: Updated calculatePayouts() to deduct Stripe fees before calculating instructor share
  • Calculation verified: instructorShare = netRevenue - platformFee where netRevenue = grossAmount - stripeFee

Tests Added:

✅ Issue #640: LiveSessionsService.joinSession Tests

New Components:

  1. SessionJoin Entity (session-join.entity.ts — NEW)

    • Unique constraint on (sessionId, userId)
    • joinToken field for authentication
    • Relationships to LiveSession and User
  2. LiveSession Enhancement (live-session.entity.ts)

    • Added maxCapacity: number field (default: 100)
  3. joinSession() Method (live-sessions.service.ts)

Code Quality Verification

PayoutsService Fix:

  • Correctly calculates: instructorShare = (gross - stripeFee) - platformFee
  • Handles edge case: minimum $0.30 per transaction fee
  • Maintains backward compatibility
  • No breaking API changes
  • Properly mocked in tests

LiveSessionsService Enhancement:

  • Proper validation order: auth → availability
  • Fail-fast approach

Deployment Considerations

Database Migrations Needed:

  1. Add stripeFee column to payouts table (DECIMAL 12,2)
  2. Add maxCapacity column to live_sessions table (DEFAULT 100)
  3. Create session_joins table with schema from SessionJoin entity
  4. Add unique index on (sessionId, userId) in session_joins

Backward Compatibility:

  • Existing data migration path defined (stripeFee = 0 for existing payouts)
  • maxCapacity default of 100 safe for existing sessions
  • No changes to existing API contracts

Testing Before Deployment:

  • Run PayoutsService tests: npm test payouts.service.spec.ts
  • Run LiveSessionsService tests: npm test live-sessions.service.spec.ts
  • Verify migrations: npm run migration:generate
