The most interesting finalized feature are support for Behavioral Model containers, which you can think of as standardized tests. Although our focus in eFMI is on testing sampled data systems only, I still think this part of the specification is very interesting for FMI too. If not mistaken, the FMI group also started to look into standardized testing by means of a layered standard; I think Pierre Mai (CC) pushed on that.

I recommend you have a look into the Behavioral Model Representation Chapter of the eFMI® Standard. Our emphasis has been on completely well-defined testing; the strictness of the specification might not be the level of detail you might want in FMI, but it provides a good feeling of the obstacles and scope if one really aims for a complete and sound specification. Supporting continuous testing on that level will be very challenging.

I hope you get some inspiration form the eFMI specification. Maybe we can align the MA standard efforts for testing, maybe even under the umbrella of OpenSCALING (that is why Martin is in the CC).
