Feature request
Summary
As I'm using the MODX3 alpha, the middle panel setup isn't making much sense to me.
Why is it needed?
- Now that the Content field is in the same panel as the pagetitle, alias, longtitle, etc., the collapsible panel feature doesn't really make much sense. Why would anyone do this:
There is nothing above or below that panel. I guess you might do that if you're editing on a phone, when the panels stack, but it's unlikely that people will do much of their editing that way.
I'm assuming some effort was made to let the Content field appear closer to the top of the window compared with MODX 2. I like the idea, but we've lost some good UX to do that. First, the description and introtext fields are on the same line, so they're half the size they used to be. Not so friendly for entering very much in there. Second, it's no longer possible to hide all the top stuff (pagetitle, etc.) to bring Content all the way to the top.
- Another issue is that the Content field itself is 30% narrow in my typical screen size. That doesn't make for very pleasant editing. And, with the ability to collapse the top info gone, and the new right sidebar stuff, the window is looking a lot more cluttered compared with the simpler setup in MODX 2.

I love that the collapse/expand status of the various panels is now remembered when going from page to page. If Content were in a separate panel underneath the top fields, like it is now in MODX 2, then users could close that top info and then move from page to page seeing just the Content field on the right for quick editing.
Of course, what I would love the most would be the ability to put any field on any panel anywhere, including the built-in fields (pagetitle, alias, etc.). I've been hoping for a highly customizable manager for a while now; guess that will have to wait for MODX Next! -
It's great that we can hide the left tree panel. Why not be able to hide the right sidebar as well? That would be a big help to people using smaller monitors or laptops for editing. I often want to leave the tree open to refer to while editing, so being able to hide the right sidebar instead of the tree would be most welcome.
