Would love to be able to use Mongo MCP with Claude Integrations

Hey @pheuter – thanks for the feedback. A few questions (including for other folks who want a remote MCP as well):

• What are some of your other use cases for a remote MCP beyond the convenience of a hosted server and Claude integrations?
• Would you expect this remote MCPs to be hosted on Atlas, only having access to Atlas clusters?
• Do you need to manage different permission levels across multiple clusters? If so, would you require a system that maps specific permissions to different tools for different clusters?

Feel free to add more color & requirements to your use case beyond what I asked above :).

What are some of your other use cases for a remote MCP beyond the convenience of a hosted server and Claude integrations?

It's mostly for convenience—we have non-technical users who would like to run business analytics and queries against the database using natural language, and who are comfortable using claude.ai but not configuring mcp servers in json files.

Another benefit of a first-class claude.ai integration is to seamlessly generate reports, charts, and graphs using artifacts that draw on the MCP tool calls.

Would you expect this remote MCPs to be hosted on Atlas, only having access to Atlas clusters?

We use MongoDB Atlas to manage our production database, so i'd expect the remote MCP to either:
a) OAuth against the Atlas org to gain access to the db
b) Accept a connection string

Speaking for myself here—no. The main value of this tool is to execute queries (reads, updates, aggregates, indexes, stats, schema introspect, etc...) against a mongo db. Exactly how the current tool works, but as a remote mcp.
