[v5 Question] The keys to manage uploads have not been set in this Monica instance

I am currently trying out Beta 5 of version 5. When I go into my vault, then a contact, then information tab, in the documents & photos area, I have this message:

The keys to manage uploads have not been set in this Monica instance

It doesn't give me any option to do anything or add anything. I am pretty sure that it is something that I have configured incorrectly, in the odd case it is not me, then it may be a bug?

I am using the docker version (ghcr.io/monicahq/monica-next:main)

Take a look at the .env.example

There is a section about how to add your Upload Care access keys in your environment. Monica requires you to register and upload to Upload Care when you want to use photos.

Thanks for the reply @despokd . I’m actually self hosting my instance, so no need to put files on a third party server

Me too, but Monica has no option to upload to the local file system. The only option is Upload Care. This is what the message is about - the connection to Upload Care.

Ah ok, that stinks. So you can self host everything, but not the photos/files. Very strange way of doing it. Essentially it isn't available for self hosting people then. That is a shame, thanks for the posts
