upgrade the nodejs version used by the action to 24.x, GitHub deprecates nodejs 20.x on its runners #43
Description
The GitHub actions workflow of a repo I work on involves moonrepo/setup-toolchain@v0 and moonrepo/run-report-action@v1 actions.
When the workflow is triggered by a PR created by dependabot, the pipeline fails with the following error message:
Node.js 20 actions are deprecated. The following actions are running on Node.js 20 and may not work as expected: actions/cache@v4, moonrepo/run-report-action@v1, moonrepo/setup-toolchain@v0. Actions will be forced to run with Node.js 24 by default starting June 2nd, 2026. Please check if updated versions of these actions are available that support Node.js 24. To opt into Node.js 24 now, set the FORCE_JAVASCRIPT_ACTIONS_TO_NODE24=true environment variable on the runner or in your workflow file. Once Node.js 24 becomes the default, you can temporarily opt out by setting ACTIONS_ALLOW_USE_UNSECURE_NODE_VERSION=true. I would suggest to upgrade the node versions of both https://github.com/moonrepo/setup-toolchain and https://github.com/run-report-action, but the package.json files of these repos does not seem to lock the version. I am a bit puzzled by how to fix this issue 🤔
