"New Container Window" menu option which opens all tabs in same container by default

I believe many people use the web by context and arrange their windows (not just tabs) by those contexts. It would be amazing if there was a way for all tabs opened in a given window to automatically be attached to the container chosen when opening the given window by default.

There is a great add-on recommended by Mozilla - Simple Tab Groups. It provide requested functionality by Sticky Containers. You could configure any groups to open all tabs in the defined container.

As well it provide many other things that improve personal effectiveness and is greatly integrated with Multi Account containers.

I'll have a look at Simple Tab Groups, but that should actually be the main functionality of the Firefox feature. I think these containers only make sense if I could use them to not only switch between different contexts but also to use them as permanent session storage without the need to take a snapshot every time. Like, I open the Work container and bang, all my tabs from my last work session are there.

@GenieRobot MAC add-on is not the same as Firefox browser. So if you need feature in Firefox then you need to visit their bug tracker. :)

MAC can manage tabs and containers. It bring some useful features like opening URL in some container, etc. But it does not manage browser windows and how Firefox opens tabs. It is not designed for it and as add-on it has limitation that make impossible to implement some highly expected features on the level of Add-On.

I use MAC and STG together for years. I have similar scenario when in some group of tabs I need to open everything in some special container. Firefox greatly restore earlier closed session and keep tabs open in the containers that these were open before quitting browser. It works quite stable and I never lost my tabs so I do not do backups every time before browser closing.

Probably you need to pay attention to small things that would help:

• never close browser by clicking mouse to cross for closing window - it will close window, not browser, so context of window will be lost and not available on session restoring. Use keyboard shortcut instead that will quit Firefox with all its open windows (on Windows it is Ctrl+Shift+Q).
• check sticky container setting per group in STG - this gives a chance to open all tabs in the selected group in the defined container and/or move tabs open in the defined container to the selected group.

I would love to see this feature as well. Usually when I am using a specific account container, I want that entire window to be dedicated to that container. Often by habit I click "+" for a new tab, but now that new tab is in the default container and my window is mixed containers (I am aware of the 'hold click +' feature, but don't always remember).

Regarding Simple Tab Groups, I am reluctant to give "Access your data for all web sites" permission to third-party plugins, so I would love to see this integration natively by MAC.

STG is open source the same as MAC. :)

As well it is recommended by Firefox:

For sure - it is a question of trust. Though I'm pretty sure it will not be implemented in MAC as windows management it not their cup of tea.
